No strings attached

I‘ve built a doll to play with me

And tended to her needs

Brought her body back to life

Ensuring that it bleeds

Married to a marionette

Whose strings I can‘t detach

Caught up in these pirouettes

Whose landings I can‘t catch

Maybe she‘s a metaphor

I‘ve molded in my mind

A blend of all these fantasies;

Desires I can‘t hide

Thus I write her into being

Like so many guys before

Unaware she‘s not a toy

And I can‘t leave her anymore
