the dog pays the rent

You’ll sell it all to pay your rent

your body, soul and child

As you get rewards for punishment

Your joys become reviled

The lessons that they teach you

Were a means to find a job

And they never pay what you deserve

You practice what they preach

And respite from monotony

Shall threaten any sanity

And daily will you strain

against your ever-weakened leash

Like a starving dog

That died on time

You‘ll make sure that you do

If they can think to kill your child,

My dog, they‘ll kill you too
